Chimney Sweeping in Memphis
Professional chimney sweeping that removes flammable creosote and blockages. Sweeping is $200 and comes first when you need a written inspection report — we cannot inspect a dirty flue.
Creosote, Soot & Why Sweeping Matters
Every wood fire deposits creosote in the flue. Creosote is highly flammable and the leading cause of chimney fires. Sweeping removes buildup and clears nests and debris that block draft. It is also the first step of a written chimney inspection: we have to see the liner. Sweeping is $200. That is not a free repair estimate — the estimate uses a drone on the exterior only.

Why we sweep before we inspect
A chimney inspection is a written legal report. If the flue is coated in creosote or blocked, the report would be a guess. Sweeping is $200 and happens first. After that we inspect. A free repair estimate is the other service: 4K drone photos of the outside of the chimney. It does not clean the flue and it is not the inspection report.
Carbon monoxide is invisible
A cracked liner or blocked flue can let CO into living space. Pair annual chimney service with working CO and smoke detectors on every level.

A thick, glazed, tar-like coating that is dangerous and hard to remove without specialized methods.
No. Sweeping cleans the flue. Leaks need crown, cap, flashing or masonry repair — see our leak repair guide.
